Full-page screenshot for Chrome

Capture full-page screenshots in Chrome. Keep sticky headers from repeating.

PageShotter handles pages beyond one browser canvas, lazy-loaded content, and page chrome that can otherwise repeat. Export one continuous image or a direct-capture PDF with supported links and searchable Latin-script text. Nothing is uploaded, and no account is required.

These are genuine screenshots from one MDN capture: the capture choice and its 32,138-pixel result.

More than the visible viewport

Chrome normally shows only one screenful of a webpage at a time. A full-page capture moves through the rest, captures each visible section, and joins those sections into one result.

  • Full page, visible area, or a dragged region
  • Ctrl-click to capture a single element
  • PNG, JPEG download and clipboard copy
  • Direct PDF export with clickable links and searchable text in Latin scripts
  • History of recent captures, kept on your machine
  • Local processing with minimal Chrome permissions

Built-in way: Chrome DevTools

Chrome can save a full-size screenshot without an extension:

  1. Open the page, then open DevTools with Ctrl + Shift + I on Windows or Command + Option + I on macOS.
  2. Open the Command Menu with Ctrl + Shift + P on Windows or Command + Shift + P on macOS.
  3. Type Capture full size screenshot, then choose that command to download a PNG.

This works well for an ordinary one-off capture. It can miss content that loads only after scrolling, and fixed or sticky page chrome may be placed incorrectly. The downloaded PNG must also fit Chrome's single-image limits: no side can exceed 65,535 pixels, and the total pixel area can stop a wide page sooner.

PageShotter is the upgrade when those limits matter. It moves through the page in sections, waits for nearby lazy content, prevents fixed and sticky chrome from repeating, and tiles captures beyond one browser canvas. It captures up to 200 sections and can export the full captured depth as PDF. Image exports state their single-image limits before export; clipboard copy scales down automatically when the full capture does not fit.

Built for harder pages

Long and lazy-loaded pages

PageShotter moves through the page in steps, gives nearby content a bounded chance to settle, and recalculates page height as it goes.

Sticky and fixed elements

Headers, cookie banners, and floating buttons can be stamped into every section. PageShotter handles these elements during multi-section captures and restores the page afterward.

Logged-in pages and app layouts

PageShotter captures inside your existing Chrome session, so it can work with dashboards, admin tools, and other pages you are already authorized to view. It also detects many app-style layouts whose main content scrolls inside the page.

PageShotter does not bypass logins, paywalls, or access controls.

Your screenshot stays on your device

Screenshot pixels and webpage contents are processed locally by the extension. PageShotter does not upload captures, collect extension analytics, or require an account for ordinary single-page capture.

Known capture boundaries

A page taller than a browser can hold in a single canvas is captured in tiles. One capture stops after 200 sections, about 160,000 CSS pixels at an 800px viewport, and reports a deeper page as truncated.

Single-image exports have separate boundaries. A PNG or JPEG cannot exceed 65,535 pixels on a side or 268,435,456 pixels in total. WebP cannot exceed 16,383 pixels on a side. PageShotter states the applicable limit on the result page and can still export the captured depth as PDF.

Searchable PDF text covers Latin scripts. A page in another script captures perfectly as an image, but its PDF text layer will be empty.

Continuously changing media, several competing scroll areas, and content outside the visible horizontal viewport can also have limitations. If a safe public page captures incorrectly, send us the test case.

Continue from the full-page capture

Edited PDF limit. An edited PDF contains the finished picture without source-page text and link layers. Export the original capture directly when searchable text or clickable links matter.

Full-page screenshot questions

Does PageShotter capture more than the visible screen?
Yes. Full-page capture moves through the webpage in measured sections and assembles one result. Follow the scrolling screenshot guide for the step-by-step workflow.
Can I capture a page after signing in?
Often, yes. PageShotter captures inside your existing Chrome session, so it can work with many account pages and dashboards you are already authorized to view. It does not bypass access controls.
What happens when a page is extremely long?
A capture stops after 200 sections and reports a deeper page as truncated. At an 800px viewport that is about 160,000 CSS pixels. PDF can export the captured depth even when it is too tall for one image.
Is the full-page screenshot uploaded?
No. Screenshot pixels and webpage content are processed locally by the extension.

Need several pages?

Free PageShotter focuses on capturing the current page well. Capture Collections is a planned, currently unavailable workflow for batch screenshots.
