Choose PDF after a PageShotter capture
- Choose a full-page, visible-area, region or element capture in PageShotter.
- Review the captured result and open the export options.
- Choose PDF, then select the text, link and page-splitting options you need.
- Download the PDF to your computer.
This page covers PDF output from a PageShotter capture. It is not an arbitrary image-to-PDF converter.
One long screenshot or printable pages
Keep the capture as one continuous PDF page when preserving the webpage's long shape matters. A PDF page stops at 200 inches; if the fitted result would be longer, PageShotter asks you to turn Split to pages back on instead of producing a file that readers may clip.
Turn on page splitting when you need conventional pages, with A4, Letter and Legal size options available.
Searchable text and clickable links
For a direct webpage capture, PageShotter can place text read from the live page behind the screenshot and preserve page links as clickable PDF links. The visual result still looks like the webpage, while compatible PDF readers can search and select the text.
The text layer covers Latin scripts. It is read from the webpage rather than recovered from screenshot pixels with OCR, so PageShotter is not a tool for adding OCR to an existing scanned PDF.
Why use PDF for a long screenshot?
- A PDF can contain a capture too tall for one PNG or JPEG.
- Page splitting makes a long webpage easier to print or file.
- Optional source text makes a direct capture searchable in Latin scripts.
- Optional direct links preserve supported links from the captured page.
